We’ve all heard of a win-win situation, but what about a win-win-win?
Shopping at the ReStore is a win-win-win.
The first win is when you make a purchase and help fund the building of a simple, decent home for someone in need.
The second win is that you just purchased something for less money than you would have spent somewhere else. Please feel free to celebrate this victory by using your extra money to treat yourself to some pudding after leaving the ReStore. You deserve it. You won twice today.
But wait!! There’s a third win. The third win is keeping usable items and materials out of our local landfills. Time after time we are told things like, “If you guys hadn’t picked this up it was going in the trash!” But we do pick donations up or you drop them off and we win!
We’re celebrating the 3rd win today by posting a little brag. The good people at Habitat International have given us a formula that we can use to estimate how much material we (and by “we” I mean the whole ReStore family- staff, volunteers, customers and donors!) have kept out of Lima-area landfills.
